Description
The Victor Book for Boys was an offshoot of the extremely popular Victor comic. The book was published every year from 1964 until 1994 by D C Thompson, a British publisher. Apparently about 200,000 copies of each edition were printed but exact figures are not known.
The book concentrated on war stories, some based on fact, others pure fiction.
From the end of 1980 the books were 'modernised' and the front covers of the last few editions reflect that. In my view the book lost its way in the 1990's and as a result The Victor Book for Boys lost its appeal and ceased publication.
